The differences among "connector", "plug-in" and "terminal"

The differences among

1. The connector is a broad category. In China, it is called a plug-in component, a plug and a socket. It is a component that electronic engineering technicians frequently come across. Most of them refer to electrical connectors, which connect two electronic products with components and are used to transmit current or signals.

2. The plug-in component is a positioning connector for connecting electronic circuits. It consists of two parts, namely the plug and the socket. Generally, they can be completely separated, so the plug-in component can also be called a connector.

3. The wiring terminal is a component product used to achieve electrical connection. It is applied to facilitate the connection of wires. It is actually a metal piece enclosed in insulating plastic, with holes at both ends, which can be inserted into wires. Wiring terminals can be divided into plug-and-pull wiring terminals and European-style wiring terminals.

II. Differentiating the differences between "connector", "plug-in component" and "wiring terminal" based on their scope of application

1. "Connector = Plug-in component" is the first category. The wiring terminal is just a type of product within the "connector" category. The connector is the connection between wires; the plug-in component is the connection between wires and boards.

2. In the field of electrical engineering or electrical work: Connectors and plug-in components are the same type of product. In a more common understanding, it refers to electronic components that can be quickly connected without the need for tools, such as the male and female connectors that are plugged or screwed together. Wiring terminals are, in a more general sense, electronic products that require certain tools, such as screwdrivers or cold pressing pliers, to connect the two connection points together. They are usually used in power input and output, etc.

3. Terminals are part of the connector. The connector is a general term. Generally, the connectors we commonly see usually include the plastic shell and the terminal. The plastic shell is mostly made of plastic and serves a protective function; the terminal is usually made of metal and serves the function of conducting electricity at both ends.

III. Differentiating the differences between "connector", "plug-in component" and "wiring terminal" based on their practical applications

1. Electrical connectors are also called connectors or plug-in components. They are a subdivision of electronic components and are mainly used for connections between circuits. In current electronic industrial production, the connection of circuit lines of connectors can be found everywhere, so the application scope of connectors is very wide and can be indirectly applied in various industries.

2. Connectors have many specific types of classification. In terms of shape, such as rectangular connectors, Gaaye electronic circular connectors, Gaaye stepped connectors, etc. The wiring terminal rack is a type of connector, generally belonging to rectangular connectors. The usage range of the terminal rack is relatively limited and is usually used in the electronic and electrical fields, for internal and external connections of PCB circuit boards, printed boards, and distribution cabinets, etc.

3. The usage range of wiring terminals is increasing, and their types are also increasing. Currently, in addition to PCB board terminals, there are also hardware terminals, screw cap terminals, spring terminals, etc. In the power industry, there are dedicated terminal racks, terminal boxes, which are all filled with wiring terminals, single-layer, double-layer, current, voltage, etc.
