In outdoor cable laying scenarios, ensuring the waterproof and insulation performance at the connection points is a key issue. The integrated silicone waterproof junction box combines physical sealing and chemical curing to provide reliable protection for cable branching nodes, especially suitable for scenarios where cables need to be exposed to a humid environment for a long time, such as underground lighting installation and outdoor equipment power supply.

1. Technical Principle and Structure Composition


This device adopts a "one inlet two outlets" branching structure design. The core protection mechanism is the injection and insulation process. It has reserved cable threading holes and injection cavities inside. During installation, connect the main cable and the branch cable, and then inject the two-component epoxy resin gel into the cavity. This gel, after curing, forms a high-strength insulating layer that can isolate moisture, dust, and corrosive substances. At the same time, it mechanically bites and fixes the cables to prevent contact failure due to external force pulling. The device's shell is usually made of high-strength engineering plastics (such as ABS or PC), with anti-ultraviolet and aging resistance properties, capable of withstanding temperature variations from -40°C to 80°C.


2. Usage Method and Precautions


The installation process consists of three steps: first, fix the box to the predetermined position (such as underground pits or walls); second, complete the cable stripping and connection (use a dedicated cable crimping tool to ensure the contact area); finally, perform the injection process. Before injecting the gel, mix the AB glue in a 1:1 ratio and stir thoroughly. After injection, let it stand for 24 hours until fully cured. Precautions include: avoid outdoor work in rainy weather; the injection volume should cover the cable joint by 3 cm; regularly check the sealing performance of the box; if the gel cracks, re-inject immediately. This device is suitable for low-voltage circuits with a power of 1KV or less, commonly used in municipal street lights, garden landscape lights, outdoor billboards, etc., for cable branching protection.


3. Technical Highlights and Practical Performance


Compared with traditional waterproof junction boxes, the injection process significantly improves the protection level. Ordinary junction boxes rely on rubber sealing rings to achieve waterproofing, and over time, they are prone to aging and develop gaps; while the cured epoxy resin gel forms an integrated structure with the box, achieving IP68 protection standards (no impact even in continuous immersion). In addition, the insulation resistance value of the gel can reach over 100 MΩ, effectively reducing the risk of leakage. In northern cold regions, its anti-low-temperature property can prevent the box from cracking; in coastal humid environments, salt spray tests show that the gel has no corrosion phenomenon, and the service life exceeds 10 years.
