An street lamp holder pierces the gas pipe

At 9 a.m. yesterday morning, workers installing street lamp sockets inadvertently pierced a 110-mm-diameter natural gas pipeline near a construction site near Shuangqiaozi Interchange, and a huge stream of air lifted the soil up to half a meter high.

The construction site is in construction phase. Several internal roads have just been repaired. Workers are installing street lamp sockets. According to Master Wang introduction, the underground gas pipeline and roadside should have a distance of one meter. The street light is located half a meter away from the side of the road. Therefore, it is safe to drill holes in the ground to prepare the lamppost. When knowing that it was 1.2 meters deep, workers would poke a hole in the pipe as soon as the steel was drilled down, and the gas rushed out. At about 6 o'clock yesterday afternoon, the reporter learned from Chengdu City Gas Co., Ltd. that while the gas pipeline was vented, the site is still under construction and no residents are using it. The staff said that the repair personnel were repairing at the scene and it was expected that repairs would be completed within three hours.
